L.B. Schmidt & Associates, LLC, is a full service, international consulting firm and was founded in 2004 in Charlotte, NC by company President Luke B. Schmidt.  The firm moved to Louisville, KY in 2006 and provides a wide variety of consulting services for its clients, which are located in the United States and Europe.

We specialize in community visioning, consolidated community government, economic development, environmental issues, government relations and strategic planning.  In addition, we develop marketing, communications and media strategies to support the needs of our clients.

More importantly, we build long-lasting partnerships with our clients.

We tackle challenging issues every day by working closely with our clients to develop strategies that work.  This includes developing and managing projects across a wide spectrum such as leading a legislative/media outreach project to change existing Kentucky law to allow grocery stores to sell wine; developing a recycling solution for a San Diego-based manufacturer of ultracapacitors in Europe; conducting market research in North America for an Italian chemical company’s new product introduction; developing legislative talking points for a Connecticut-based major beverage producer; leading the first-ever visioning project for one of Kentucky’s largest and fastest growing counties, and, successfully facilitating federal and state grants to support the development of new airline service in Eastern Kentucky.

We work with communities to develop strategic plans for the future to ensure that communities are properly and positively positioned to compete for new jobs in the global economy.  We also work with communities that want to consider the development and implementation of consolidated community government.

The company also works with a First Class list of strategic partners who have proven expertise in the fields of accounting, advertising, banking, graphic design, language translation and the law each of whom provides assistance when needed.

We also give back to our community.  We have developed strategic plans for the Sickle Cell Regional Network in Charlotte as well as the Loaves and Fishes ministry of St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church in Louisville.  In addition, we developed a new Web site and conducted media outreach in major markets in the Ohio Valley for the Kilgore House & Garden Tour which serves as the major fundraiser for the Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center in Louisville.  Luke Schmidt also served as a member of the Steering Committee of 21st Century Parks – the organization which is developing the world-class 4,000 acre Parklands at Floyds Fork in Louisville – the largest park under development in North America.

We’re members of the following organizations: Greater Louisville, Inc. (The Metro Chamber); Kentucky Association for Economic Development; Prospect Area Chamber of Commerce; and, the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

Luke Schmidt has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.  Prior to starting his consulting company, Luke served as a Distribution Project Manager for Coca-Cola USA in Atlanta, GA; Vice President of Marketing for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Elizabethtown (KY); founding President and Chief Operating Officer of the National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) in Charlotte, NC – an international trade association which represents plastic resin and container manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada.
